Panagiotis Papanagiotou is Professor of Neuroradiology at medical school of Saarland University in Germany. Since 2012 is Prof. Papanagiotou director of the Dept. for Diagnostic and Interventional Neuroradiology at Hospitals Bremen-Mitte/Bremen-Ost in Germany. He is also Director of the Dept. for Interventional Neuroradiology at Henry Dunant Hospital in Athens. He is visiting Professor at Anglia Ruskin University in UK.

Prof. Papanagiotou is a pioneer in new techniques of endovascular stroke treatment with publications in Circulation, JACC, Stroke and Lancet Neurology. He has performed a series of studies in this area and has conducted many clinical trials. He was contributed significantly to the introduction of first Mobile Stroke Unit (MSU) worldwide. He has authored and co-authored more than 120 published papers and book-chapters. Under his lead the dept.  for Neuroradiology in Bremen performs more than 600 neurovascular procedures annually, with ca. 200 thrombectomies. He performed >1000 endovascular acute stroke procedures.
